Built in 1922 in Vancouver B.C. to be a fishing schooner the Merrie Ellen was converted to a steam driven tug boat. The Merrie Ellen was converted back to her original sailing rig in 1978.

The Merrie Ellen is a gaff-rigged Schooner. She is designed to carry a main gaff top sail but does not currently have a main top mast. She carries up to six passengers in three queen bed staterooms complete with private heads.
The boat is privately owned and has recently undergone a complete hull and systems restoration.

The schooner Merrie Ellen sails with a licensed captain and three experienced crew. We
offer three and six day charters to the San Juan and Canadian Gulf islands and eleven day
trips to Desolation Sound. For more information on our public cruises, day sails, private
charters or special events call us at 360.796.3172 or cell 541.740.0053 or online at schoonermerrieellen.com
